Remember how the cops stood by and let leftist goons attack Trump rally goers in San Jose, the same thing happened in Chicago, Albuquerque, and other places during the campaign. Since the campaign, there have been standdowns by cops at Berkley allowing Antifa to attack people at will, and there has been other such incidents.
So, it is not unlikely that a police department, under the influence of a leftist mayor and governor, would help instigate a riot on their behalf.

Louis Gohmert was on Rush’s show today saying essentially the same thing: that the police intentionally herded both groups together. He was also calling for the DOJ investigate if there was a RICO violation.

I don’t believe that the police were instructed to “bring the ... groups together,” and I agree that the police would have been unlikely to follow such an order. My guess is that, because of the chaos combined with the lack of planning by the police, the two groups were *unwittingly* brought in close proximity. This event had been in the works for many months. The governor should have ordered a massive law-enforcement presence beginning on Friday, creating a “blue wall” to separate the two groups. I put the blame squarely on him for what transpired.
