PayPal banned Jihad Watch and the American Freedom Defense Initiative from receiving online donations using their platform because of the sites activities after being designated as hate sites by left-wing groups.
Jihad Watch was reportedly banned from PayPal on Saturday after ProPublica a George Soros funded investigative group targeted the site and its director Robert Spencer (not to be confused with white nationalist Richard Spencer) in a hit piece that claimed the site was guilty of extreme hostility toward Muslims.
The assault on Jihad Watch began on Friday when Spencer received an email that he described as a threatening from ProPublica journalist Lauren Kirchner.
The email informed Spencer that she was including his site among a list of hate sites identified as such by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) and the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) both widely considered to be left-leaning organizations.

same here, quarterly. Is there a backup plan for FR? I have an "internet" credit card but even that could be blocked when FR is declared a "hate site".
VDARE has also be banned by pay pal. I am sure there are others. Theleft is making its move. Can Free Republic be far behind?
It is time for lawsuits. PayPal is in a regulated industry and their decision to censure and American person or company for exercising their 1st Amendment rights is sketchy at best. If they think that they can make businesses owners violate their religious beliefs to make gay wedding cakes then surely forcing banking entities to perform payment processing is not a bridge too far. The DOJ needs to join and support the individual lawsuits against these despotic online companies.
Silicon Valley is about to get a schlonging from the American Republic.
I just looked it up. Your credit card goes through the sellers account, not paypal. That is unless you have a paypal account. Which you should dump
I’ll never use Pay Pal again....
No, I’ve never had a PayPal account. But thanks for checking on the process. I very seldom us ebay any more, but have.
Agree, it is time.
Sounds like they have just experienced blowback today.
They’re attacking the First Amendment with everything that they have.
Yesterday PayPal suspended Pamela Geller’s group AFDI (American Freedom Defense Initiative) and then reinstated it.

We are rapidly heading to a hot Civil War.
The mere fact they initially did this though is disconcerting.
I’m finished with paypal!
Trump needs to issue an executive order to the treasury department stating the treasury department, IRS or any federal entity cannot receive or pass through any money transactions via paypal.
Note to paypal - no, you cannot accept politically biased opinions and from them pretend that you are acting against either bigotry or hate. All you are really doing is trying to prevent opinions someone may not like from being expressed. Just because some Liberal organization does not like some website provides no basis for that website to be smeared as either bigoted or racist. You, paypal, are being pulled into a false agenda and risk your business falling into the legal abyss those who pushed you into it have created.
Had Pay-Pal. Got rid of Pay-Pal.
i agree - but they got pummeled by people on social media and backed down.
Yup. Only fools would ever use PayPal as a mechanism to make a purchase.
That’s the default. Click credit card instead.
No. It would have made a great lawsuit against Paypal and Discovery would have uncovered a lot of Soros’ hidden money and front operations.
I think that is why Paypal chickened out - they knew that they would lose the suit and have to pay big bucks, while Soros would have come down on them like a ton of shit for turning over Soros’ connected fronts information.
OK thanks. I must have done that before and forgot. Has been long time since I bought anything on ebay.
