The World’s Debt to Jesus Christ
PJ Media ^ | August 19, 2017 | Edward Watson

The West’s Christian heritage is being erased from our consciousness by our political, educational, and media elites. Somehow, the scientific and technological products that originated in the West now arose in a vacuum. Universities like Harvard, Yale, Oxford, and Cambridge have been going to great lengths to minimize or even deny Christians had anything to do with their establishment, but their debt to Christians is undeniable.

The fact is everyone on earth owes a great debt to Jesus Christ because those influenced by his teachings were directly responsible for virtually everything that makes our lives the most enjoyable and productive in human history.

When they erase him from this world, this world will be erased. His Word will endure forever!

Yep... that may be 10 years from now, perhaps a thousand... but the WORD is eternal.

Come Lord Jesus... your children await your return.

[The West’s Christian heritage is being erased from our consciousness by our political, educational, and media elites]

This is in preparation for the rise of Antichrist.

Some of the “elites” might not even realize where it is going. They’ll find out. Enjoy the ride, “elites”. They like to tell others it ain’t coming. All part of the deception.

Amen. The debt that the world owes Jesus Christ is incalculable...and far exceeds and cultural accomplishments of the west.

Speaking of debt...like the old song says,

He paid a debt He did not owe.
I owed a debt I could not pay.

2 Thessalonians 2:
1 Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, 2 not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us—whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter—asserting that the day of the Lord has already come. 3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.

5 Don’t you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things? 6 And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. 7 For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming.

9 The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, 10 and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

13 But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as firstfruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. 14 He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

15 So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.

16 May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, 17 encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.

An apt description of the glee of liberal voters in 2008 and 2012.

I like to call them elitists who carry a false ideology of elitism. They are not elites. They operate under the illusion that they are superior to everyone beneath their achievement level but they are not superior people, in reality. We are measured by the content of our character; not by the amount of money and toys we have.

"Christians, and the Jews and other non-believers living and working within the Christian milieu of Europe and North America in the past 500 years, gave the world the notions of inherent human rights. They forced the abolition of human sacrifice, slavery, infanticide, and cannibalism wherever they had influence. They drove the criminalization of pedophilia, rape, and torture. They invented universities, hospitals, modern banks, universal literacy, education degrees, academic accreditation, property rights, mass production, intellectual property rights, separation of church and state, freedom of speech, and many more benefits and “rights” that we take for granted. They developed the foundation for virtually every invention that we enjoy today (cell phones, cars, planes, computers, air conditioners, televisions, and tens of thousands of other inventions)."

Only one of those things actually comes from Christianity. Universities were invented by the church in order to train clergy. The rest does not come from religion but from it's opposite. They stem from the Enlightenment values of free inquiry, science, and individual freedom, all of which had to be fought for against fierce opposition from religion.

But that misses the point - WHY did they emerge only within the environment of Christianity and not within the environments of Islam, Hinduism, or Buddhism?

You’re right - the church fought against a lot of these things, but those who proposed them used Christ’s teachings for justification, whether the Golden Rule, or another virtue found in the NT.

Also, where did those who gave the world free speech, and other rights get their education? Who protected them, supported them, financed them, and got their message out? Again, from those influenced by Christ’s message, not from those influenced by Islam, Hinduism, or Buddhism.

We should make a distinction between the opposition from the “establishment” - i.e., church leadership, and the “Enlightenment” outsiders who used Christian teachings to give freedom and rights to the masses.

That certainly describes the fraud of Barack Hussein Obama. What a joke. It was another of his confidence games.
