GOP has paid $1.3M to Trump-owned entities this year

The Republican National Committee paid the Trump International Hotel in Washington $122,000 last month after the party held a lavish fundraiser at the venue in June, the latest example of how GOP political committees are generating a steady income stream for President Trump's private business, new Federal Election Commission records show.

At least 25 congressional campaigns, state parties and the Republican Governors Association have together spent more than $473,000 at Trump hotels or golf resorts this year, according to a Washington Post analysis of campaign finance filings. Trump's companies collected an additional $793,000 from the RNC and the president's campaign committee, some of which included payments for rent and legal consulting.

Trump's other signature properties also have drawn GOP fundraising events. The Republican Party of Virginia spent $9,705 on room rental and catering at Trump's Virginia golf club in May. A joint fundraising committee for Rep. Tom MacArthur, N.J., spent $15,221 in June for "venue rental/catering" at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J., which the president has been visiting frequently.

$1.3 million? Seriously?

Good freakin grief!

Guess what, the GOP would have spent that money somewhere. $1.3 million to Trump is bird seed.

Out of that $1.3 million, how much turned out to be profit? $0.2 million? $0.1 million?

I’m sure Trump is basing all his decisions on this massive income. /s

Someone needs to get a life.

He put $100m of his own money in his campaign and he is not taking a salary.

I don’t think he is in it for the money.

The amount is irrelevant without context. If they spent $0 three years ago and 1.5M now...I guess someone could comment on that. But if its has been 1.3 million for years, and now its 1.5...it is an absolute non story.

Would it be asking too much to know what the monthly payroll is of Trump Enterprises? The reason I ask is that too many on the left equate gross income as net, net income.

It’s not tax dollars. They can spend it anywhere they want. If they want to party at Trump Towers or in Uncle Fred’s barn, they’re free to do so.

You are exactly right — what was the amount spent in previous years? Without that information, what has been spent since President Trump’s inauguration is meaningless. Of course, those facts are not covered in the article because the intent of the article is to perpetuate the Leftist position that President Trump is corrupt and using his position to enrich himself and his family. Now if we were talking about Hillary, Bill, Warren, Gore or some other Dems, it would be true.
