'Lou Dobbs Tonight' most-watched business news show of the year

'Lou Dobbs Tonight' most-watched business news show of the year © Fox Business Fox Business Network's "Lou Dobbs Tonight" marked one straight year as the most-watched program in business news this week, according to Nielsen Media Research.

The show, hosted by staunch President Trump supporter Lou Dobbs, averaged 285,000 total viewers, making it the highest-rated program over other business networks including rival CNBC.

Trump thanked Dobbs via Twitter last month for supporting his agenda and giving him an "A+" grade on the performance of his first six months in office.

"Thank you to [Lou Dobbs] for giving the first six months of the Trump Administration an A+. S.C.,reg cutting, Stock M, jobs, border etc. = TRUE!” the president tweeted on July 23.

Overall, Fox Business has topped CNBC for nine consecutive months.

CNBC announced in 2015 that it would no longer rely on Nielsen ratings to measure its daytime audience, turning to rival Cogent Reports instead.

The financial network made the switch after complaining for years that Nielsen fails to track "out of home" viewing in locations such as airports, gyms, restaurants and offices.

The business news ratings come as the Dow has hit 35 all-time highs in 2017. The all-time record for one year is 70 all-time highs, which occurred in 1995.

Yes, & Dobbs has been on the Trump Train 100% from the beginning. He started the Ditch Mitch campaign. So maybe that should signal something to the other Alt-Left media idiots.

He needs to be on prime time Fox News to give them back some credibility as a conservative network.

Lou Dobbs is the man - I remember when he anchored the local news in Seattle on the CBS affiliate, many many moons ago.

When is he due back? Lou and Charles Payne have been gone for weeks. I’ve stopped checking in to see if he’s back...maybe I should try that.

I believe he is on prime time, just another Fox channel...We often switch from Fox News to Lou Dobbs...he is refreshing...The Fox news people spend too much time repeating their opinions and trying to second guess the President, a fools errand and boring to the core and often way off base.

Election night I switched to Fox Business (watching live streams) since almost all other networks were anti-Trump. Only Fox Business was happy to see Trump starting to win.
