I wish nothing of the sort. POTUS doesn’t need to get involved in this and cause an unnecessary distraction.
There have been several of these incidents since the idiots starting blocking streets and nobody has even heard of them.
Go search on you tube “protester hit by car” and you’ll see.
I guess this publication decided to TRY to make this a big deal because it’s after Charlottesville. But this is nothing new.
It’s common sense not to block traffic and attack cars trying to pass. The states need to take it on their own to pass laws, or better yet ENFORCE the laws already on the book about blocking streets. I mean does POTUS really need to remind everyone of that?
This is a huge landmine for Trump. The media will demand his reaction to this and no matter what it is they will hammer him for it. If he condemns it it won’t be fast enough or strong enough. If he ignores it he hates lgbt and is a bigot. Very dangerous.
There is going to be a fight, lets get it done and over.

Seriously, if you stab people and police officers with a knife, it really doesn’t matter what your personal problems are, how much angst you have, or how politically correct your also mentally ill peers have. This being said, this likely accident, so soon after Charlottesville, makes me wonder how many more people will now consider vehicular homicide as a lifestyle?
The ISIS magazine is encouraging their followers to do this in the US. And can you imagine what would happen if some serious wacko decided to do this with a semi truck at speed.

I understand the source of your view that you don’t wish anything of the sort, and I appreciate that you think common sense will rule. I think it should as well. And sure, states SHOULD enforce things, but will states take it on themselves to enforce laws that are ALREADY on the books?
Well...common sense doesn’t rule, and governments at all levels don’t enforce laws on the books, those two things are amply proven.
We can wish for politicians to conduct themselves as responsible representatives of the people and put the focus of this where it belongs (on the people blocking the road) and not on the President, but that doesn’t mean they will.
We can wish for states to conduct their affairs in the little latitude we have left them to do so, but it doesn’t mean they will, and often because they are worried that the DOJ will instigate a probe of racism against them.
We can wish for the media to report that this was the fault of the people blocking the road, screaming at the occupants of the car, and banging on it, but we know they won’t.
If one understands leadership, it is 100% true that leadership comes from the top down, not the bottom up. The bottom takes its cues from the top, and that is one of the jobs of the President, is to provide real leadership.
I would welcome some real leadership from above that steers the country away from liberal insanity, racism, and a complete break from common sense.
Our country has proven it won’t do it as a body on its own. It needs leadership and demonstrations of common sense to follow, in much the same way this country would have never gotten off the ground if it were not for a leader like George Washington who imbued our country with the character that still retains remnants of it today, thankfully.
If there is one thing we should embrace from Trump above all others, is to speak his mind and provide real leadership on issues we find important and let the majority of the population of this country who see things as you and I do (fact/common sense based) see the government has its back, not the other way around (that they are going to come after you) as the previous administration did.

This is an outrage that the driver was arrested.
And in this political climate, they may have to charge him. Remember Zimmerman? There was ZERO case against him, but it still went to trial, and he won handily.

this is a nothing burger. There is video of people jumping on his car and attacking it when he stopped and beeped his horn and when he slowly moved forward they fell off his car and didn’t have any injuries. Nobody outside of the Daily mail and here is even talking about this stupid incident. I’m sure locally it’s a small story.
It’s not something POTUS should concern himself.
Police told not to do their job, and arrest people illegally blocking traffic and streets. And then if hit by a car the police will chase down the car and arrest the person driving. Welcome to leftist ran cities in America!
The cities these incidents are allowed to happen are leftist ran cities. They’ll either have to enforce the law eventually, and remove people from blocking the street or someone is going to get killed and a lawsuit will happen.
You can’t fix stupid.
We agree on that. I view what is happening there as a cancer that will spread if unchecked, and we cannot depend on those local governments to check it.
It is insanity. I can hardly believe it, but it is true.
