Is the IRS Scandal About to Break Wide Open?
PJ Media ^ | 8-27-17 | Rick Moran

Lost emails, destroyed hard drives, foot dragging, stonewalling, and a smirking, sneering IRS commissioner doing his best to obscure the truth -- this has largely been the response by the Internal Revenue Service to investigations by Congress and FOIA requests from conservative groups trying to discover the truth about the IRS targeting scandal. But one federal judge appears to be just as curious as the rest of us about what exactly the IRS was up to when it targeted conservative groups for special scrutiny in approving their tax-exempt status. Washington Examiner:

Judge Reggie B. Walton of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia  ordered the IRS last week to release the names of employees involved in targeting conservative and Tea Party groups. Walton also told the IRS to explain why groups were targeted and search for additional records in agency databases from May 2009 to March 2015.

The IRS has until Oct. 16 to complete its records search. Walton's order was a turning point for True the Vote President Catherine Engelbrecht in her legal battle with the IRS that began in 2013.

(snip) But first, the truth. And tantalizing hints emerged last week that whatever the truth is may be recoverable.

Bopp and True the Vote previously requested documents from the IRS pertaining to the organization, but the agency has yet to turn over any documents, Bopp said.

(snip)

"I was shocked there were 2,000 documents, and then I was doubly shocked when they hadn't produce them," he said. "You could've picked me up off the floor. They had them. They didn't produce them, and they weren't even going to tell us."

Yet they continue to rehire those fired for previous weaponizing of the IRS.

U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia

That’s a red flag. I wouldn’t hold my breath how genuinely and vigorously this is to be pursued. Anyone here familiar with Walton’s history and leanings?

The biggest mystery of all—Koskinen remains in charge. Could it be that he would be easier to charge with criminal offenses while still an employee? And the corollary to that question is why hasn’t he resigned? He is a Presidential appointee. As such when Trump took office, Koskinen was required to submit his resignation. Did he do that and why wasn’t it accepted?

Why the hell didn’t Trump fire that dirtbag Koskinen on the afternoon of January 20th?

I don’t understand that at all.

Yeah, right. I think they mean docs will be turned over in October 2020.

Koskinen has the goods on GOP leadership - it’s the only good explanation. They have to find a way to shut him up before firing and/or prosecuting him.

A nice post, but I myself have given up on waiting for things to “break wide open”. Tomorrow begins Week Three since the report that Assange was going to bring us his proof that Russia! Russia! Russia! is BS.

Is the IRS Scandal About to Break Wide Open?

Wake me up when someone is actually put in jail.

If our republic was working according to our Constitution, we would have seen many past and present federal judges impeached and removed by Congress; we would have impeached, removed and jailed lawless Presidents and legislators; we would have indicted and jailed those who've lied to Congress; we would have indicted and jailed all the corrupt characters in Washington who fill their pockets with ill gotten taxpayer money and/or have politicized their office to terrorize citizens.

This is not the nation founded by the men who laid down their lives and fortunes for freedom and to create a constitutional republic. In fact, our courageous founders are being cursed today by too many so-called Americans.

If our government was not corrupt to the core - Lerner, Clinton, Clapper, Podesta, Obama, Koskinen, Holder, Lynch etc., etc., etc. ...... would be in jail.

If our government was not corrupt, activists federal judges would be looking for work.

Let me know when someone of any stature is put in jail. Ohhhh - that requires a Congress that exercises its responsibility? Forgetaboutit!

I think you nailed it. Trump and his family too. Makes me wonder what McMaster has.

The IRS has until Oct. 16 to complete its records search.

Who believes that the IRS will make a serious effort to comply with this order? There will only be more stonewalling, delays and obstruction.

So far, there have been zero consequences for any of the Democrat scandals under Hillary or Obama. The Dems are keeping everything under control and GOP just looks the other way.

Excellent post. Washington DC is a cesspool of corruption. Both parties are swimming in the Swamp.

Perhaps there is already some blackmail hinted from Mister K regarding the President's tax returns.....and we have yet another "anonymous leak". Koskinen needs to leave before he gives away all of our SSNs to the illegals.

Mister K should have been impeached a long time ago for encouraging "undocumented aliens" to use stolen SSNs.
