I have been a lifelong Republican. Not because I like the sound of the name, but because I believe in what the Republican alleges to promote.
But now the mask has been stripped away. Although most rank and file Republicans believe as I do, the party leadership on the national level is hopeless. Even with control of two Houses, the White House, most governorships and state legislatures, they have demonstrated what they allege to represent is not what they capable or willing to deliver.
If a third party came along to support those ideals and was ready, able and willing to implement the, I would join it. The Ryans, McConnells, McCains, Grahams, etc are HOPELESS.
It was my 2nd entomological awaking in Oct-2010, that they were screwing me too. You are not alone looking for a new home. They have become hand maidens for K-Street, and any other entity that funds their continued existence in power. The tax offsets, NAFTA, Obamacare, etc etc are all what they wanted "Sundance" over @ CTH has opined about it and nailed it, Trillions are at stake and they do not want to devolve power back to us schlubs in fly-over-country. And the best weapon they have against change is moving at a turtles pace using senatorial procedures with the long ball hope of resignation, impeachment, or defeat of PDJT in 2020.
Boy are they in for some surprises. I think Mitch is going to get up to 11 Trumpian new Senators approx 20% of his total troops and they will be resolute against his swamp-age behavior.
Grab the popcorn Spring of 2019 when they are sworn in will be interesting, It is going to be fun to see him squirm.
