New York City not even on the list. And for good reason. You get crazy in NYC and you got the NYPD coming down on you from all corners. In fact, I would say that Manhattan from maybe 110th Street down to the Battery and in between 3rd and 8th Avenues is probably the safest place for humans on planet earth.
Midtown to Harlem from York to 3rd Avenue is also very safe. Have never felt unsafe at any time of day or night in Yorkville, Sutton Place, or Lenox Hill.
