Actually, your entire line of reasoning is ridiculous, and I'm even surprised by how little you understood the history I just outlined. I suppose people believe what they want to believe, or what they have been trained to believe.

Whether the "Nazis were left wing" mantra has any success with the younger crowd, or lefties in general, is irrelevant to whether or not it is true. What is unarguably true is that the ideas embraced by the Nazi party were ANTITHETICAL to American right wing ideas. I can't put it any more simply than that. Nazi ideas are the opposite of American conservative ideas.

Once you get past your conditioning or bias or ignorance, or whatever it is holding you back, and recognize that simple fact, then your whole "Nazis really are right wing!!!" thing falls apart. They are right wing in Germany, but not in the US.

You are probably right that the "Nazis are left wing" argument is useless to us now, and will convince nobody, yourself being a fine example of this, but it doesn't make it less true. The Left has worked long and hard to brainwash Americans into believing that Nazis represent extreme right wing American thought in order to get Americans to reject right wing thought. Not hard to understand...for most of us here.

Actually, I’m not even sure the Nazis even qualified as being of the German right-wing either (certainly not of the American right-wing, in any case). Goebbels did, after all, explicitly state, and I quote, “the NSDAP [Nazi Party] is the German Left. We despise bourgeois nationalism.” This was from Der Angriff, dated December 6, 1931.

And either way, I think the fact that many of its founding fathers were sexual perverts like Ernst Rohm and Hermann Goring among others (heck, the whole Lebensborne thing, not to mention that video of a breeding program featuring nude blonde germanic women that some guy posing as a butler took and posted online.) should be enough evidence to show that, contrary to what Herbert Marcuse and his ilk claimed, the Nazis were not puritanical people who restricted sex, and if anything were a LOT closer to what Marcuse advocated overall.
