(Kitco News) – News that North Korea fired a ballistic missile over Japan has rattled world markets. Global stock indexes are lower and safe-haven assets like gold and U.S. Treasuries are higher. U.S. stock indexes are pointed toward lower openings when the New York day session begins. Gold prices hit an 11-month high overnight, as a combination of safe-haven demand and technical buying are boosting the yellow metal.

Things are unfortunate that I am making money off the desperation of these times, but, as we've seen over the past three days -gold and silver are about to- spirl upwards towards highs that have not been seen since gold was at $1920.70 an ounce in March 2011. (I hope not, but it appears that this is the course that the future holds for us)
I've been buying heavily since April when gold was $1234. I've done something that one is never supposed to do. I've put everything in one basket! Every nickel I have. Let's all hope and pray that there is no nuclear exchange and no radiation to follow suit.

I do not see how we avoid a depression with this humongous national debt, for which we have zero ability to pay off any principle.
