I dropped in on the Fairfield, CT store on Monday night after work and was impressed with the new prices on many items. Already the Walmart shoppers were showing up. The uppity clientele there are going to have their beautiful store experience marred by regular folk. Let’s see how tolerant they really are !
Nah, won’t happen! Them regular folk are still too intimidated to shop there. It’s a class thing.
I'm upper-poor and shop at a food chain with lots of healthy, inexpensive items geared to a poor immigrant population. I'm not an uppity food shopper.
However, whenever I'm close enough to one to be there, Whole Foods was on my list. I like the variety of choices, the fresh foods, and the varied healthy selections, with new choices available on a regular basis.
Long term I can't imagine how Whole Amazon Foods will keep that up. Amazon is geared to proven choices, not innovation, not local tastes. As with shopping for books online, it'll be a matter of you'll never find something unless you're looking for it. Short term, it might be terrific. Long term, I'll probably be with the uppities. There won't be much point to the store if it isn't different enough.

BOL! My wife and I will wear our Walmart Shopping gear to visit our WF today. She looks great even in her sweats.
I will have my USN camo baseball hat on with an American Flag pin in it. One of my Under Armor tee’s with an American Flag and cargo shorts showing my hairy legs with scars from ankles to knees. As a topper, I will wear my yellow polaroid shooting glasses.

indeed. and it’s going to be hilarious when the snooty professors’ wives and uber-rich C.U. students in Boulder are invaded by the hoi polloi at the Boulder temple of Whole Foods!
