Fleet of monster trucks conducts rescues in flood-ravaged Texas

A fleet of monster trucks driven by volunteers is traveling to Texas cities hardest hit by floodwaters.

Video posted to Facebook shows a monster truck -- comprised on an SUV on monster truck wheels -- pulling a U.S. Army vehicle out of deep floodwaters in Houston on Wednesday.

A crowd cheers as the military vehicle is pulled onto higher ground.

Don’t forget to mention the duck hunters. I got in trouble yesterday for praising the bass fishermen and failing to mention the duck hunters and their boats.

Agree! But nothing prevents both. The issues with snorkel is still having enough vehicle density below the water line, so the vehicle doesn’t float away, and also looking cool.

Don't forget to extend the breather hoses from the differentials and transmission to the high point of the engine air intake. Exhaust pipes need to be raised too.

They have snorkel air intakes that run out the side of the fender and up the windshield post as well as water-resistant electricals, etc. so that they will continue to run in very deep water.
