It’s all in HEIGHT! If you lift the engine, which includes its air intake, another 4 feet, then you have another 4 feet of capability to get through water (which is probably 2 feet plus to start). If you lift it 6 feet, that much better.

More if you have a snorkel. I know folks in Houston with snorkels on their jeeps.

Agree! But nothing prevents both. The issues with snorkel is still having enough vehicle density below the water line, so the vehicle doesn’t float away, and also looking cool.
