but then what will you do with your money?

The U.S. Dollar is not money, it is currency. I know, a picky detail - right up the moment when it is not. If Russia really wanted to declare war on the U.S. Dollar they would be talking about a gold or silver backed currency but they are not, they're just talking about fiddling with the IMF and World Bank power sharing arrangements.

Converting to a specie backed currency would make Russia more free by limiting the government's ability to inflate and spend. And that would be a very good thing for the Russians. But it wouldn't have much effect on the value of the Ruble as a reserve currency. Only secure good earning Russian debt can do that. If you want people around the world to hold your currency you have to have investment opportunities for that currency.

Everyone pointing out the weaknesses of the Dollar are right, but it's still the best reserve currency out there and the Ruble is not poised to challenge it.

IMHO, it will be allocated Gold and Silver tied to a blockchain. It has been known for a while that Russia and China have been accumulating physical Gold and Silver for quite sometime.

This is the best way to move away from all of the currency manipulation games that the banksters have used to oppress the world since 1913.
