My wife is British and where we live (Spain) is loaded with British expats. Very few I have met or spoken with could give a rat’s behind about Diana or any of the other royals.

but somebody posted on the Internet a comparison between Diana and Mother Theresa...
I then realized how ridiculous this adulation was.....
one who gave everything, vs one who spent $200,000 a year on personal "maintenance"...

As you may be aware of, there is a large segment of the U.S. population who adore British royalty. I’m not sure why. It might be because we have no actual royalty here, or perhaps it is just a branch of celebrity worship.
