Why POTUS Unloaded on a Senator From Tennessee
Variety/DJT ^ | Aug. 25, 2017 | Ted Johnson

Posted on 09/01/2017 11:12:01 PM PDT by EliRoom8

Each day, Variety dissects the inspiration and meaning behind one of President Donald Trump’s tweets.

Today’s tweet: {{{{Strange statement by Bob Corker considering that he is constantly asking me whether or not he should run again in '18. Tennessee not happy! 3:25 PM - Aug 25, 2017}}}}

What’s Behind It: The “strange statement” was Sen. Bob Corker’s criticism of Trump. Last week, Corker, a Republican, told a Tennessee news outlet that the president “has not yet been able to demonstrate the stability nor some of the competence that he needs to demonstrate in order to be successful.” He also called for “radical changes” at the White House.

What’s the Fallout: Corker is just the latest GOP senator to be targeted by Trump on Twitter. CNN’s Chris Cillizza says that Trump or his aides have attacked 20% of the Republican Senate caucus. Trump reportedly expressed frustration to Corker over the Russian sanctions bill, which was passed overwhelmingly with bipartisan support.

Joe Carr, an admirer of Trump, is considering a primary run against Corker. >>Carr ran a competitive primary race against Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., in 2014, keeping the incumbent below 50 percent in the primary and himself finishing with 41 percent.<<

Corker is no friend of President Trump and is an Establishment Republican type. He needs to be replaced - UNelected.

Both Corker and Alexander need to go. Alexander has been an education and political clown all his life. Never had a real job. Haslam, the Gov., is a common core clown. I am voting against all. I wrote both Corker and Alexander on their Senate sites and told them to get Trump’s/our wall built, plus his tax reform etc. I made my points clear with both. I told them they were for sale.

The Rino rumps need to be taken to the woodshed and straightened out. If Trump can’t do it then the American voters need to show them the door.

This crap helps dems, not our president.

there were about 6 others in the primary...probably at least one a ringer working for Lamar!

If TN had run offs like George does, Joe Carr could have beat Lamar!

Corker was the enabler for the anti-American, anti-Israel, Pro-Obama, pro-Kerry in your face Iran nuclear deal.

All but one Senator (including Ted Cruz) signed on to that unconstitutional bill relinquishing the Senate power of veto.

When you think pro-Obama-Kerry - anti-Israel, pro-Iran nuclear deal. Thank Corker and Ted Cruz.

Obama Iran Deal: Corker Bill Was a Sham

Senator Corker's bill regarding Obama's Iran deal was intended to approve it, not oppose it ..

Indeed. When Iran nukes someone Corker will be as responsible as Obama. The Corker Capitulation was a strategic disaster.

These do nothing RINOs are going to find out that they didn't learn a thing last year. We elected Trump to get things done with THE congress. And the RINOs in congress have shown that they want the status quo.

Come 2018, the swamp is going to be a bit clearer.

Ed

Ps; Trump should turn the AC up in the capital buildings to 80 for the rest of Summer. And the Heat down to 55 for Winter. It's to save the Planet 🌎 ;-)

I would like runoffs to be the law of the land in every election, but unfortunately that decision is left up to the states.

Well idiot. How about confirming his people, just for a start?

If you can’t manage that you are the incompetent one.

I look forward to voting against Corker. I’m not sure who I will vote for, but ABC (Anybody But Corker). Hopefully, he will decide against running and I won’t have to choose.

Sounds like the uniparty is firmly in control to ensure that there is no threat to Corker.

I don’t suppose anyone is looking at running a DINO in the ‘Rat primary..? :-)

Good for you. Hope you can have others call out these so called Republicans. They ignore the people’s choice. So be it and vote them out.

Corker is the co-sponsor of the bill that allowed Obama to ram through the Iran nuclear deal. On that basis alone, even if the remainder of his record was Sterling, I would oppose his reelection. Though I am not from Tennessee, I will be donating to the campaign of his primary opponent if he decides to run for reelection. Bob Corker is one of the many things wrong with our government.

If such a terrible event occurs, I sincerely hope that a family member of one of the people killed decides to pay Corker back in an appropriate manner.

In order that he show the nation what a power-wheeler-and-dealer he was he totally screwed us. The Iran Deal could have been stopped without his intrusion.

I understand your thought. I have worked small jobs for a number of Tennessee conservative campaigns.

Conservatives mostly lose. The reason seems to be that Tennessee is a Republican state rather than a conservative state.

In my district, a conservative won in a large field but lost two years later when the field was much narrower. The winner was a mainstream Republican

No such hope...

Corker is like Lamar! he’ll die in that office...

Lamar! id about 80 and still breathing in the Senate building...

Unless Corker runs for Gov...we can hope...
