No, the DACA program had no sunset, they could have renewed 2 year passes forever. The deadline was imposed by the state attorneys general who sued to stop DAPA, the Usurper’s second and larger illegal amnesty for illegal aliens. They were going to file suit yesterday to stop DACA if Trump did not.
Trump did not want to defend this in court and lose, which would have been the outcome. DACA had no more legal basis than DAPA, which is not legal.
