According to the FBI--

a hate group's "primary purpose is to promote animosity, hostility, and malice against persons belonging to a race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or ethnicity/national origin which differs from that of the members of the organization."

Okay so lets run Islam through that criterion and see how it stacks up.

Does Islam promote animosity, hostility, and malice against persons belonging to a---

race-no

religion- YES definitely, they hate Jews, Chiristians, Hindus, etc every religion besides their own, and they very often kill people because of it.

disability- no

Sexual orientation--Another big YES, they throw gays in prison, beat them severely, and often kill them.

ethnicity/national origin--not sure on this-- the kurds, for example, are hated by many muslims, but then the kurds are Muslims.

(Gender) maybe should have been included. if it had been, then that would be another Giant Yes, as muslims treat women horribly.

Of course the "primary purpose" of a "hate group" is an ambiguous concept.

From the perspective of some, the purpose of Islam is conquest, power, spoils, and sex slaves.

From the perspective of others, the purpose is to get into paradise in the afterlife.

From the perspective of others, its just what one must endure and pretend to believe lest they be found out and killed.

From the perspective of Satan, I suppose it might be a delicious way to pervert man's desire to worship God into something wholly evil.

But I would not think its primary purpose was racism per se.
