David French: The ‘Idiots’ Were Right, Mr. Bannon
National Review ^ | September 11, 2017 | David French

Posted on 09/11/2017 2:31:55 PM PDT by EveningStar

How quickly some of us forget. How arrogant some of us have become.

Those of you old enough to remember the shock and horror of September 11, answer me this: If I had told you that the George W. Bush’s anti-terror policies would be so effective that after that terrible day jihadist terrorists would kill only three Americans on U.S. soil for the remainder of his term, would you judge his policies a success, or would you call him an “idiot” and hold him and his foreign-policy team in “complete contempt?”

I know my answer. I know the fair answer. In the days and weeks after 9/11, fear gripped America. We knew al-Qaeda possessed an immense safe haven in Afghanistan. We had no idea of what other plots might unfold next. After all, our intelligence agencies had just missed the worst attack on American soil since the British burned Washington, D.C., during the War of 1812. We believed that the 9/11 attacks were the first of a series of assaults to come. That they never came is to the eternal credit of Bush and his team.

Going after the jihadis full bore was a good move. Nation building? Not so much.

Any US president would have gone into Afghanistan after 9/11.

What there's disagreement about is Bush's other war, the "war of choice" in Iraq, the war for the "nation building" that Bush said he wasn't going to try to do.

French and his fellow idiots were so idiotic that, 16 years later we’re STILL in effing Trashcanistan protecting boy-buggering savages from other savages.
And Iraq is a heck of a mess and wracked with ISIS supporters.

“national” = of or pertaining to a nation.

No borders = no nation.

Does Mr. French believe ANY nation is entitled to preserve itself with borders? He certainly doesn’t believe that abut OUR nation.

First Twin Tower attack in 1993 killed six under the Clinton administration.
Then there was the attack on top of the Empire State Building by a moslem.
An attempt to bomb Times Square by a moslem
The shooting at the Pentagon in Va.
Quite a few if you look.
Strange, two years ago I found lots of web pages with moslem attacks in the USA on Google. Now they have disappeared.
BING the same, but I did find this.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Islamist_terrorist_attacks
https://www.jihadwatch.org/2013/08/77-of-terror-plots-are-motivated-by-islamic-jihad-doctrine

It appears many of the smaller attacks by individual moslems in the USA are being overlooked, unless they rack up a big body count.

6 during the botched 1993 WTC bombing.

https://www.911memorial.org/1993-wtc-bombing-victims

They’d hoped poisoned gas would kill those fleeing the building but the bomb burned it up.

They’d hoped to topple the WTC onto surrounding buildings.

But it was a precursor to the 2001 attack and the plotter got to see his goal accomplished.

That interview was too chopped up and edited to allow Bannon to even begin to explain what he meant.

Al Queda still exists, taliban still exist, ISIS created. All Bush did was waste trillions of dollars.

And Major Hassan thrived in the US Army under Bush. They all knew he was a jihadi and corresponding with anwar al alaki, but they were all terrified to deal with him.

Then there’s the fun factoid that Bush the idiot let in around 800,000 moslems AFTER 9/11. This included a 16fold increase in Saudi student visas!

Obama let in another 800k. So we are closing in on 2 million moslems here since 9/11. To put that in perspective, about 388,000 African slaves came to the USA over around 300 years. 425k if you count some that came in via the Caribbean. Today that seed has grown to 40 million African Americans.

So essentially Bush the idiot and Obama the jackass brought in 5 times as many moslems as the ENTIRE slave trade. And they did it in 5% of the time.
Our grandkids will spit on the ground at the very mention of the name “Bush”.

Point taken, but it also wasn't an epidemic which was the implicit argument of this "French" guy without Bush's policies.

My point was that his metric for measuring the success of Bush's policies was not a very good standard for doing so.

And Hezbollah still exists. Beirut Marines. Reagan.

No, it was about money building. My son fought in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. I knew what was really going on but I had to support him. Now he is older and so am I. We can’t be fooled again.

And it's still there.
