Harry Ried is a Mormon. He didn’t run against Romney but he had a lot to say about his taxes. Saxon may be right. Fools errand. If he runs and wins, as I expect he would, Trump can handle him. My issue is what would happen if the next president is establishment.

I seriously doubt Mormons ever run against other Mormons, even from the opposing party.
Mike Lee himself did it against Bob Bennett. He positioned himself as Tea Party vs. Establishment, and it was the biggest scalp outside of Eric Cantor taken in the mini-purge.

The Mormon church leadership are RINOs...not all Mormons are RINOs but the church supports open borders, illegal immigration, can’t get enough of the cheap labor express. The closer Mormons live to Salt Lake City the more RINO the voters are as well.
I knew many Mormons that supported and voted for President Trump, but they lived down here near the border in AZ and NM and are against illegal immigration. Utah is a different story.
I think if Romney runs in Utah he will win.

Mormons are the power in Utah; they want a RINO and a Mormon. That is what they will get.
I agree with the poster above that said it would be a waste of resources to try to run someone against Romney in Utah. The only candidates that would have a shot would be people just like Romney.
The Mormon church was actually more conservative years ago when Hatch was elected. Now the LDS Church is pro open borders, illegal immigration and are willing to elect candidates that are RINO to get people that support the cheap labor express.
