I dropped them a few months ago when I was laid off - too expensive when on a tight budget.

I did pick up DirecTV. Much cheaper, but not as good.

Just go digital broadcast which is free above and beyond the relatively inexpensive antenna, then streaming for other content. Cheaper and better than DirecTV, but a little more effort.

DirectTV is cheaper for a while, then the rates start creeping up and you face the $20 per month penalty.
