Right on the money, JimRob. We shudder at the likes of Eddie Munster and “Team Mitch” they are so transparent and fake. We need cleansing of the Congress.
I think it is up to us in the primary season to throw out establishment republicans and not worry whether the person is the best one to run a campaign against the opposing party.... having a republican in congress is meaning less unless they are conservative and not scared to put fourth conservative principles.
Very well-said, JimRob. Thanks. BUMP!
Thank you, J.R.!
Call me teacher’s pet* But I totally agree.
It gets real tiresome seeing so much pearl clutching going on lately.
‘We’/AMERICA dodged a major catastrophe last November. We may not get everything we want - when we want it. But look at the major gains and what we could have lost. It is a no-brainer.
I have even wondered if some of the complainers here were here to try to destroy our support of our President. There is a major ‘cold’ civil war going on now. And much of it is psy-ops. DON’T FALL FOR IT PEOPLE. Look at the alternatives we may have ended up with. BE THANKFUL ALWAYS. I am!!!
Thanks Jim.
I wish we could all work as much and as hard in GOP primary races, year in and year out, as you do at keeping this forum going. We know it will take that, and much more, and not just a President Trump to succeed, long term.
Good aspect to focus on, Jim.
I hope we can keep that focus and the mechanics of this Dreamer crap are worked out with this Congress and Trump trying to apply “The Art of the Deal” to the world of politics. Anyone, including DJT, is going to use the skill set they have as they work in a government position. An artful deal is how he has made his living and just on this site in the last 24 hours we see how violent the reaction is to hints we are going down this road.
Hear, Hear, Jim! Well said!
Thanks for your words of encouragement.
Who knows if Civil War 2 may yet be averted?
The Trump presidency has been a BIG win so far!
During the prior eight years we endured an endless barrage of bad news. it is frustrating that some of that continues today. But the tide has turned.
And though it may be an ongoing battle, we are winning right now. This is not the time to throw in the towel.
Free Republic has been front and center in winning this fight. Thanks for all you do.
If not, in all likelihood the nation will be finished.
Well Said Mr. Robinson and Thank You!
Thank heaven for you, dear Jim! And thank heaven for FR.
This is but one example of how Trump is trying to get things done...from an (R)/conservative/Constitution perspective, and the damned congress is standing in his way...in some cases, actively pushing back against him.
Of course, there's just about every other issue the congress is either subverting, not funding, slow walking or actively blocking.
The vast majority of blame rests with the obstructionist repub "leadership" for not working with Trump and getting this stuff done. You know, these "excessive expectations" and all.
Articulate and succinct!
I will say this until my dying breath....even if Trump did NOTHING (and by the way, he's done plenty), helping us avoid THIS...
...makes this the best election EVER.
The swamp wasn’t filled in a generation, it won’t be drained much faster. I wish Trump were 20 years younger and had the time to finish what he’s started. In any event, he is still a breath of fresh air and is going a long way toward restoring America’s greatness. But we need to continue this past him.
Had Ross Perot won the same thing would have happened.
The 2 parties will never, ever, never allow an outsider in.
3rd parties can’t be built from the top down.
Your post is a breath of fresh air, Mr. Robinson.
I am so sick and tired of those on the right becoming unhinged over every move that this President makes.
Donald Trump’s entire career has been based on one thing that he has mastered and highly succeeded at, which is being a brilliant is NEGOTIATOR.
This man isn’t going to do anything that would in any way be detrimental to our country.
And as far as his being swayed by those around him, we have already seen him go against his Secretary of State and his own beloved daughter when he thought their political preferences would not benefit America’s best interest.
Whatever the subject, whatever the policy, whatever item is on his agenda list at the time, he is going to negotiate with anyone who will put something worthwhile on the table to help him reach his goal.
And let me say, as a staunch Conservative, I believe (as do my family) that the President is doing a fantastic job and is striking the right balance between securing our border, deporting the criminal illegal aliens, and getting those who were born or raised here through no fault of their own, legalized.
He is the first president who has ever really attempted to straighten out our entire, screwed up immigration system.
Personally, I don’t feel the contempt toward the so-called, “Dreamers,” that I’m seeing from too many people who call themselves Conservatives.
These people were born here, or brought here as children, and grew up in the only country that they have ever known.
Suddenly, after years of administrations coming and going, without closing our borders or holding illegals accountable, they are suddenly supposed to be rounded up and deported.
Well, that may be considered “conservative” to the Ann Coulters of the Republican Party, but it isn’t conservative in my household.
I think Trump knows bad deals would make him lose in 2020.
MAGA.
