Fifteen Republican governors sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, urging the Senate to pass the Graham-Cassidy bill to repeal and replace Obamacare through block grants to the states. The letter argued that Obamacare is broken and the states are the best place to fix it.
Support for Graham-Cassidy has grown exponentially in the past couple of weeks. President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence endorsed the bill and continue to reach out to governors and senators to get their support for the legislation. Speaker Paul Ryan, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, and House Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows have endorsed the bill.
The list of Republican governors include:
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin Maine Gov. Paul LePage Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin South Dakota Gov. Dennis Daugaard Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam Utah Gov. Gary Herbert

They can’t wait to get their hands on the money
15 Insurance company bailout tax and spend republicans.. are they still exempt?,
Still spends $1 trillion that’s now sent to the states, and keeps all the taxes.
The only way to “fix” Obamacare/RINOcare is a full repeal.
Ahh. Governors.. they are not exempt,Mobutu still tax and spenders.,
Ill evaluate by whos not on the list. Namely John Kasich. With his absence, I know this is a decent bill.
We all better figure this out, real quick. As I wrote over a year ago, we will NEVER be rid of Ocare.
Anything that advances us even slightly MUST be embraced, especially something that repeals permanently the individual and corporate mandate as this does.
Fight one battle at a time. Once mandates are gone, we can start worrying about who is getting subsidized. If anything is pushed to the state levels, it should become much better-—though no guarantee.
In AZ, a doctor friend had a terrific idea for a state-backed tort insurance pool that would offer prices to participating doctors at 10% of the normal cost. The doctors would have to serve certain hours a week in designated free clinics.
The governor (an R) would not let this move forward, and the Senate GOPe killed it. So no guarantee even if states have control. But first, REPEAL the mandates & it all gets easier.
Careful. Some of those old desert tortoises can have a very nasty bite!
I think McCain is a yes vote. He said if it was ok with the gov it was ok with him. Paul is trying to be a real perfectionist and is voting no. Both McClasky (sp) and the Collins rep are holdouts for more Medicaid dollars. Prez Trump may be able to work his ‘magic’ with one of the two gals. IMO
Put me in the presidency and I'll prove you wrong.
Obamacare lives with Gramnesty’s bill, it just morphs.
Kill it, don’t morph it.
I am against ANYTHING that does not start “this act repeals the affordable care act (obamacare) in it’s entirety”
Otherwise anything to RINO’s take out, the Dems will put back in 10 times faster- if they get the chance.
McConnell, you better that butt wipe John McCain into line. you better force him to be the first Republican senator to shout out his vote, Aye on killing Obamacare. And then ditto for the other turncoats...they better all vote yea, including your buddy From Kentucky, Rand Paul!!!
Bring the whole Republican Senate caucus as one unit voting “YEA” together with one voice. Anyone that jumps ship like that low life, scum/vermin McCain...pull all his assignments and banish him to clean the Senate toilets....low live hateful creature he is!!! What a servant of the devil Satan...this poor excuse for a human being, John McCain is.
I am unot a Rand follower, but, this as he says doesn’t save the money and doesn’t let us put it into tax rate reduction.
So its still Obamacare, and healthcare is still crap.
Rand is a Doc, so on this I will have to support what he wants a straight up repeal of Obamacare that all these GOP losers said they were for until they had to keep their word and do it.
HOW HARD CAN IT BE TO REPEAL SOMETHING EVERYONE HATES??????
This bill in no way repeals Obama Care it should not pass. I see at least three mid-America Governors who apparently don’t get it, or are so enamored of bloc grants they can’t see the forest for the trees.
Lindsey Graham is pulling the wool over everyone’s eyes. This is a bad bad bad bill that keeps all kinds of Obama care alive in perpetuity.
Then repeal Obamacare and let the states fix it. Oh wait...they want the buckets of money that goes along with the "replacement".
