Under Reagan in 1982, I started a new business at age 38 and bought major medical insurance for myself and my first wife who was five years older than I for $118. per month, it provided one HUNDRED percent coverage for hospitilization after a small deductible, I don’t recall the exact amount but it was much less than a thousand dollars. Nine years later I was still paying the same premium when my wife developed lung cancer and spent NINE WEEKS in a private room, which was really a small apartment, being given radiation treatments. The insurance paid the entire bill which was $51,000 for NINE weeks. Compare that to today.
