Hepatitis A is a highly contagious liver disease caused by the hepatitis A virus. Mild cases can last a few weeks while severe cases can last several months.
Los Angeles County is experiencing an outbreak of hepatitis A. The majority of cases are occurring in individuals who are homeless and/or use illicit drugs. Outbreaks of hepatitis A in persons who are homeless and/or use illicit drugs are also occurring in San Diego and Santa Cruz counties.

What is ridiculous in California right now is the the Water Quality Control Board has put a prohibition on the steam cleaning or pressure washing of city sidewalks as the water ends up in protected water ways including the ocean. Seems like an emergency right now and this ban should be suspended.

An effective vaccine against Hepatitis A is available, and is recommended for those traveling to countries where the virus is prevalent. Lax immigration standards are a contributing factor to it becoming more prevalent in this country.

In SF a decade or so ago I remember there was something medieval going around, CHOLERA, or something.
And my boss, who was a German MD/PhD, was screaming about how it was “cuz dudes are eating each other’s butts out”.
Typically he was uber academic and cerbrial so when he laid it out so plainly and in so few words I was shocked to the core.

Hep A and B are risks for medical researchers who handle human tissues or cells. For this reason, I have been vaccinated against both. There is no Hep C vaccine, so researchers still have to take chances when handling human products.
My point is that not everyone is exposed due to bad habits or poor hygiene.
Interact with immigrants and crimingrants.

Yep. I just read a news report yesterday that a bakery employee in central Michigan was found to have Hep A and exposed all the customers from late August to just a couple days ago.
The bakery was a part of a large regional chain store so a lot of people could have been exposed.
I found out the hard way.
Don't live in the street and don't stick things into your veins. get a job and stay off drugs and you will prevent Hep.
All newborns are vaccinated for Hep A before they leave the hospital. My 1 day old grand daughter had hers, even though her parents don’t fit the amoral life style which promotes most of these Hep A, B and C vaccines.
Why do you think the Hep C vaccine is being promoted so heavy for Seniors on TV? Many of them came out of that Promiscuous drug scene generation. Treatment is $84K or higher.
