The Left wanted to impeach Nixon in his first term. LONG before Watergate’s break-in or coverup.
The Left wanted to impeach Reagan (long before Iran-Contra) and Bush and Bush and has already called for the impeachment of Trump.
The coup and unwillingness to accept election results in genuine among the Left.
They now call for resistance among unelected office holders to block Trump’s agenda. Hitlery Rotten Clinton counts herself among the resistance and has encouraged it.
The peaceful transfer of power ended by 1960.
Again, we have a Uniparty problem not a Left vs. Right problem.
McCain/McConnell/Pelosi/Clinton/Bush are paid crisis actors, posing as left or right to push along their NWO Uniparty agenda to take down America.
By choosing Gerald Ford as his VP, Nixon incurred the wrath of his decades long benefactors, Prescott Bush and friends, who knew ALL of Nixon’s secrets.
Blackmailed him in to resigning. Note that Hillary Clinton, who’s husband was a “brother by another mother” to the Bushes, was in on the Nixon kill and Woodward was Navy Intel, and GOP in 1969 when he worked for the Nixon White House.
They are all friends and crisis actors on the political stage... making money on the downfall of this country.
I think Haig’s lust for power which is described in “Silent Coup” reared it’s head again when Reagan was laying on a table with a bullet in him and Haig said that he was now in charge. (But actually was about three steps below assuming acting president.)

Your theory about the Bushes is curious, but the timeline is problematic. If there was some sort of revenge enacted against Nixon for not choosing GHW Bush as Agnew’s replacement in 1973, Prescott Bush couldn’t have been behind it. He died in October 1972.
