If a player wants the privilege of making millions of dollars in the NFL,or other leagues, he or she should not be allowed to disrespect....

...our Great American Flag (or Country) and should stand for the National Anthem. If not, YOU'RE FIRED. Find something else to do!

Rush was talking about that. The contracts will not allow for firing. Too bad as the owners will run out of money, but the players will get paid.

I have no problem... with that--

Yes, Captain, after Donald Trump was President... he went into space, took up with an Orion slave girl and founded my home planet.

Trump nails it again.

Leftists melt but they don’t watch sports.

The fan base of the NFL is tired of this crap.

Throughout our history, there have been too many who have sacrificed to make this country what it is today. The PEOPLE voted for President Trump, just as they did for all our other presidents. The NFL, by their actions on the sports field, and now apparently the NBA, have chosen to be selfish and childish by disrespecting AMERICA. Screw them...........we also have choices.

NFL players can be cut at any time, and for any reason whatsoever. The only issue is whether the team is obligated to pay the player for the remainder of the season in which he is cut.

Jerry Jones has told every player on the Cowboys that they will stand for the national anthem -- or they will be fired. He has the legal right to do that.

What IS true, on the other hand, is that the NFL as a league cannot take disciplinary action (as a professional sports league) and suspend players without pay over this. I'm sure that's what Rush was talking about.

I can pretty much guarantee that this issue will be addressed clearly in the next collective bargaining agreement between the NFL and the player's union.

Yep do that. If they can’t be fired due to having contrscts, then bench them. There’s nothing in any player contract which requires that they actually play in the game. Coaches can bench them

Though you better have the backing off your team owner, to bench star players and perhaps lose some games because you bench some star players.

Like it or not, most of the American people and football fans agree with Trump. The MSM and the NFL can express “outrage” in all their usual little wimpy ways, but eventually it will cost them money. Then it will really hurt.

Boycott the NFL!

I think the answer is to revive The American Football League and let’s see what the team owners think about the alienation of the vast majority of patriotic football fans...

And Subjects and Serfs take a knee in submission to their masters, while free citizens whose government submits to them proudly stand with hand over heart.

I would think the team owners would be upset at having some overpaid spoiled brat player and his tantrum offend and alienate the majority of patriotic football fans.
The pain from the reduced revenues will resolve this issue. Maybe we need a new league, with better rules regarding player conduct...

Where there’s a will there’s a way. There has to be sportsmanlike behavior and moral clauses in this contracts.

I’m sure there are clauses in players’ contracts about their behavior not reflecting poorly on the team. Employers have the right to set standards of behavior when the employee is representing the employer.

Yea, well I can walk away over this.

My hard earned patriotic dollars are going where I won’t be offended by overpaid misinformed brat communist players.

But your hard earned dollars are also going to subsidize the stadiums in which many of the teams play, with all sorts of tax abatements as well. Cut these, cut attendance and cut viewer ratings, and the revenues start to fall with a commensurate major reduction in the fortunes that the owners can pay their idiot players. Unfortunately, I would imagine that the great bulk of the NFL players are too stupid to make the connection.
