Huh - for a second I wondered if the Penguins were still owned by the DeBartolos, the same family that owns the 49ers. But I see Edward DeBartolo Sr. sold the team quite a while ago, and the Penguins are now owned by former Penguins great Mario Lemieux.
Lemieux is the minor owner. He’s been a republican in the past, don’t know what he is now.
I have to give props to a couple of libs. The majority owner is a big Dem donor, Ron Burkle. He hired Richard Morehouse ex employee of the Clintons who is now team president. I’m glad they didn’t play politics here. This is the second time they’ve said a white house invite would be accepted.
