Because of so many misleading articles from news sites, many are unaware of what they’re really protesting against: part of the third stanza of our National Anthem. They say that it’s racist, and they’ve been making an issue of it for some time.

“No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:”

It speaks of mercenaries hired by the British to fight our forefathers.

Yep.

The mercenaries were the "hirelings" and the "slaves" were the conscripted British troops.

I’ve never been to a sporting event where three stanzas were played. If they have a problem with hirelings, then they need to quit their jobs now.

BS!

When & where did Kaepernick - who began this sitdown turned kneel down protest - ever mentioned the 3rd stanza as an issue .

When & where was the 3rd stanza ever song at an NFL game.

The issue is Kaepernick and company's desire to dishonor Americans' flag and country to advance an anti-cop, anti-American leftwing radical agenda - while disguising it as anti-oppression & pro-justice agenda .
