Remember when the folks in the mainstream media almost universally mocked President Donald Trump's claim that Trump Tower had been wiretapped? With the recent news that Paul Manafort, who lived and worked in Trump Tower, was wiretapped that charge sure sounds a lot less laughable. Among those treating Trump's claim about Trump Tower being wiretapped more seriously is CBS's John Dickerson who asked Congressman Adam Schiff on today's Face the Nation if Trump was right on this matter.
Of course, Schiff denied that Trump was right but Dickerson seemed to have a lot more respect for that claim. As you shall see, Schiff also continues to appear to be going nowhere in the supposed Trump-Russia collusion investigation since he is actually still giving credit to the "Golden Showers" dossier and making a big deal of Russia's relatively minor ad buy on Facebook during the election.

For days, this was pumped as pretty much solid evidence that Trump must be impeached immediately.
What happened to that story? Seems like it dropped off a cliff.
Just be clear that Obama’s agencies illegally surveilled the Trump campaign, just as they have consistently done anyone he sees as a potential problem; journalists, congressmen, rival politicians. He always has the goods on his rivals.
The Russia story was the pretext. So now they have to find something, otherwise it becomes obvious it was an illegal operation, and people must by rights go to jail. Its a high-stakes game. Either Trump falls, or they go to prison.

Once Obama and his allies launched their domestic surveillance operation, they crossed the Rubicon. And there was no way back. They had to destroy President Trump or risk going to jail.
Each act of illegal surveillance became more blatant. And when illegal surveillance couldn’t stop Trump’s victory, they had to double down on the illegal surveillance for a coup.
The more Obama spied on Trump, the more he had to keep doing it. This time it was bound to pay off.
The left is sitting on the biggest crime committed by a sitting president. The only way to cover it up is to destroy his Republican successor.
