Does anyone in the Pentagon seriously believe a war on the Korean peninsula would stay conventional for longer than a few hours, if that?

God forbid it happens but if it does it’s gonna go nuclear real fast and North Korea will end up a hole in the ground by the end of the day.

It’s not the North Koreans we have to worry about. We already showed we could beat them in a war. It is the Chinese who bailed them out last time. They are the ones to worry about. China is why Korea is not unified.

After both sides pass the big blow-off during which they fire off all their expensive conventional munitions (first 24-48 hrs) both sides pretty much hit the wall. That's when the Norks will be tempted to use unconventional weapons -- chemical, biological & nuclear.

Exactly! It would be a very short war, even if it was strictly conventional. The South Korean Army aided by the American forces would overwhelm the North quite quickly.
