So we gave the important tooling parts to China? That sounds about right for Obama. (Speculating)
Anyway - yeah, the J-20 is larger than the F-22 (which is already very large for a single seater) - and that seems to be because of the size of the internal weapons bay. General consensus seems to be that the J-20’s bay is much larger than the F-22’s, which would be consistent with something intended to haul their very large AWACS-killers and big radar-seeking BVR missiles.
See this article: http://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/7806/chinas-j-20-stealth-fighter-photographed-toting-massive-external-fuel-tanks
Or, just as with prior US planes that were “too good” to be allowed to be put back into production, the tooling was destroyed - see the A-10 and F-14 for examples. Only this time it was done covertly.
I am not seeing anything that states “we can see them on IR 100 miles away”. I see claims that US IR sensors can see that far, but nothing about this aircraft specifically.
I’d also remind you that in real world experience, IR sensor range is often severely degraded over their theoretical maximum range.
Roger that. AWACS is essentially an outdated technology. The F-35 can fill the role very nicely. So I hope that’s the whole purpose of the J-20.
Notice how quick Red China took this from drawing board to operational?
No way that happens here.
Ah NO! We are developing PLANES NOW, that the Public does not know of, but then we have been doing this for YEARS..
Sorry, but who can see what is highly classified. NONE of those citations are going to be those classified sources.
You really shouldn’t believe crap put out on the Internet.
“We are developing PLANES NOW, that the Public does not know of,”
That’s not true anymore. The budgets for these programs are so HUGE and vast that there is simply no ability to keep their development secret anymore.
Recruiters are the worst for keeping such things secret. The little bimbos they hire to recruit are the leading telltale indication of a new program. You simply cannot hire as many people as they do and keep it a secret.
The management of such programs is also a bit retarded. In on program, while the particular aircraft program is classified SAP, Northrup has a tall cardboard advertising stand in its lobby touting its development by Northrup.
Maybe the general public doesn’t pay attention, but the common enthusiast knows all about the programs.
