Elementary school librarian rejects books given by Melania Trump

A Cambridge, Mass., elementary school librarian said in a blog post this her school will not be keeping a collection of books from Melania Trump, though the school later denied her rejection of the gift.
Earlier this month, the first lady sent out collections of 10 Dr. Seuss books to one school in each state to mark National Read a Book Day.
In a letter published on the Horn Book's Family Reading blog, Cambridgeport Elementary School librarian Liz Phipps Soeiro said that her school wasn't in need of the books, which included famous titles such as "The Cat in the Hat."
"I work in a district that has plenty of resources, which contributes directly to 'excellence,'" she wrote. "My students have access to a school library with over nine thousand volumes and a librarian with a graduate degree in library science."
Instead, she wrote, the White House should worry more about providing support to schools that are underfunded and subject to government neglect.
"Why not go out of your way to gift books to underfunded and underprivileged communities that continue to be marginalized and maligned by policies put in place by Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos?" she wrote.
According to CBS Boston, Cambridge Public Schools said in a statement that Phipps Soeiro "was not authorized to accept or reject donated books on behalf of the school or school district" and counseled her on a policy against using public resources for political purposes.
But Phipps Soeiro said the books were "a bit of a cliche, a tired and worn ambassador for children’s literature."

The donation was not for her personally, it was for the students. She is such a very poor example to the students, demonstrating rudeness and poor manners.
Growing up in Kansas City there was this wonderful little hole in the wall greasy spoon diner in KCMO called "Nickels".
Great place to go eat Sunday Lunch.
Anyway, above the main seating area there was this large picture collage of when Vice-President Dan Quayle came to visit in 1991 and right in the center in shinning brass was a plaque that said "Dan Quayle's Dollar" from when he bought a cup of coffee.
Everyone thought that was just the greatest thing ever that the Vice-President came to their Diner.

library...science??? If she had any clue, she would have known her clerical work has nothing to do with science. To paraphrase Mark Twain, if we let the leftists, every word will end up stinking.
However, Liz Phipps Soeiro forgot to block her “likes” on her Facebook page. She follows the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), Black Lives Matter, Islamic Society of Boston, and Queers Against Academic Hypocrisy, to name a few. People she follows include Stephen Colbert, Samantha Bee, Kamala Harris, and Micheal Moore. We could go on, but what’s the point? You can see the trend. Liz has an ax to grind as we learn from the language in her letter, and now, we know why.

It had closed once but reopened to the joy and happiness of many but couldn't sustain both the competition from the fast food spots nearby, the inconsistent quality of food and the neighborhood's edginess!
But yeah, you are correct, especially with younger and younger generations, they find nothing of value, respect or revere nothing or no one and that it something that future generations will greatly miss!

Why the hell is she even working in a school district dressed like a skid row crack whore.
Does this district have no dress code for employees.
As a Librarian she should at least dress as a professional.
