The Miami Dolphins are also part of the unpatriotic movement started by Colin Kaepernick that involves refusing to stand at attention for the national anthem. However, they are all starting to feel the consequences of their actions, with the Florida sheriffs office announcing that they will not be escorting the Dolphins to their games unless they stop with the disrespectful behavior. The local Miami police union supported the decision of the Broward County Sheriff’s Office and will not be doing any escorting either, reports The Sports Hall.
President of the International Union of Police Associations, Jeffrey Bell said, “I respect their right to have freedom of speech. However, in certain organizations and certain jobs you give up that right of your freedom of speech temporary while you serve that job or while you play in an NFL game.”
After four of their players protested the national anthem, the Dolphins organization released a statement in which they mentioned that while they encourage all players to stand it is not mandatory and is personal choice:
“We encourage all members of our organization to stand at attention during the national anthem out of respect and appreciation for the freedoms we are afforded as Americans. We also recognize that it’s an individual’s right to reflect during the anthem in different ways. We respect these liberties and appreciate the sacrifices that everyone has made for our country, especially on this day of remembrance. We hope today’s events will continue a respectful and thoughtful dialogue in our community on unity, inclusiveness and togetherness.”
The police association is well within their rights, and yet the liberals criticize their decision while at the same time they are praising the athletes for exercising their freedom of speech. If they advocate for freedom of speech and freedom of expression, that freedom has to extend to everyone.
The reality is, other than these athletes getting their fifteen minutes of fame, nothing productive is coming of their protests.

The NFL hires off duty police officers for security at games... the new ‘rate’ should be a thousand dollars an hour - take it or leave it.
Additionally each hired police officer will give a 10 minute political lecture to the NFL spokesperson hiring them.
Time to play by the same rules...
Or the fans could all sing the anthem along with who has the mic.
The sound of thousands of fans in the stadium singing the anthem would be pretty flipping amazing.
Besides, aren't there everyday miscreants the sheriff's department could be hunting down?

The Packer fans should have stood for the anthem then torn up that deprecating letter they were sent and thrown it on the ground as they LEFT right after the anthem instead of staying around and cheering for the home team

Liberals don’t get that, never will. Logic is beyond their grasp.
I didn’t know local law enforcement provided escorts. Is it in their job description, or something they do as a favor?
Looks like these players get to pay for their own escorts or be like normal people and do without.
An announcer at a game last night said for all to stand for the national anthem. He didn’t say if you feel like it. At least, they didn’t change that - yet.
“It has reawaken that “sleeping giant”, the American people, as Adm. Yamamoto found out the hard way.”
And as they always do, the liberals took it a step too far in being on one knee during taps at the tomb of the unknown soldier. That photo will forever be linked in people’s minds with the NFL. Because that’s where the punk got the idea.
Natural consequences always confound liberals. Yet any conservative with an IQ over 80 could predict the obvious next step.
I think they also want the decriminalization of domestic abuse.

The thought that comes to mind....... why does a bunch of jocks need or deserve a police escort?
From the article, it sounds like the escorts were not in the officer’s job description and were voluntary.
so the NFL reaps what it sows.
The officers get to have free speech too.
He knows he is stepping in it and does it anyway because he knows what is right.
