Lived for years in the Middle East, and once saw the President of the Bethlehem Bible College (a Christian Arab) set someone straight about this. The Muslims have attempted to redefine the term for their own devilish purposes, but to claim that the word Allah is related to Ba’al is absolutely ridiculous and totally without foundation.
Correct. I lived for many years in the Middle East among Christian Arabs and can assure you that Allah is the Arabic word for God, and appears in the Arabic Bible. That the Muslims have attempted to redefine it for their devilish purposes does not change that fact.

Of course not. As stated, Islam has attempted to co-opt the word for their own purposes. As my Jesuit doctor professor told me many years ago, one must look at how the term is used and defined. I.e., one must not assume that just because the word “God” is used, that it is being used in the same way.
