After nearly a century of building vehicles powered by fossil fuels, General Motors one of the worlds largest automakers announced Monday that the end of GM producing internal combustion engines is fast approaching.
The acceleration to an all-electric future will begin almost immediately, with GM releasing two new electric models next year and an additional 18 by 2023.
At a media event at GMs technical campus in Warren, Mich., on Monday, Mark Reuss, the companys chief of global product development, said the transition will take time, but the course has been set.
General Motors believes in an all-electric future, Reuss said. Although that future wont happen overnight, GM is committed to driving increased usage and acceptance of electric vehicles.
[Teslas Model 3 has mass appeal. That doesnt mean you can afford it.]
Reuss avoided naming the year when the auto giant will cease producing gas and diesel vehicles, noting that the company is too large to make such an estimate, according to USA Today.

Next time they go bankrupt...................let them........................
Government Motors has totally lost their mind.

>>General Motors believes in an all-electric future,
So do I...when you perfect Mr. Fusion.
GM commits financial suicide ping......................
Yeah, whatever GM...
Electricity is free and in unlimited supply—what could possibly go wrong?
GM setting up the need for ANOTHER government bailout. Not too bright.
That all-electric future for cars sure will be something when there’s a blizzard that stops traffic and disrupts power for places like the NY Thruway.
GM builds cars in China for China, and China has said it wants electric cars.
“What’s good for China is good for GM!”
NO GM vehicles for me.
Notice that their advertising and commercials seem to omit that detail for American consumers, although it is on the Window Sticker.
this is a monstrous gamble....they’re betting the technology advances dramatically by the time they’re also ready to fully convert. I’d sell my stock.
But, the power grid can't handle electric cars on a large scale. Heck, in some places - CA comes to mind immediately - it's held together with spit and bailing wire as it is.
Never mind how to get an EV charged in a reasonable amount of time.
EV's aren't a total writeoff, but the technology isn't even close to being here yet. Maybe in a couple of generations.

He is talking out his bunghole. Clearly he is a GM drone floating a marketing GM’s brain fart.
And created "somewhere else."
Imagine how mad the San Juan Mayor will be when she cant go anywhere for several months until electricity is restored. She’ll have to get another TShirt form CNN
The Chevrolet Bolt is actually a pretty nice electric vehicle, but the inability to use the Tesla Supercharger DC charging network is a big downside to this car.
