The Internal Revenue Service will pay Equifax $7.25 million to verify taxpayers' identities and help prevent fraud under a no-bid contract issued last week, according to a report in Politico. The contract comes as lawmakers lash out at the company over the major security breach that exposed personal information of millions of Americans. Politico said the credit agency will "verify taxpayer identity" and "assist in ongoing identity verifications and validations" at the IRS.

You mean the same Equifax which was hacked, releasing millions of personal information who remain unapologetic for their ineptitude?

It must have been a decision long in the making. Equifax’s recent security flop of releasing information (including SSN numbers) on 143 million must not have factored into the decision.

143 million must not have factored into the decision.

LOL! Equifax found a few straglers...total is now up to 145.5 million. Equifax plans to have thier site updated with the addtional hacked SS numbers by October 8, so if you were originally cleared you may want to check again.

" The Internal Revenue Service will pay Equifax $7.25 million to verify taxpayers' identities and help prevent fraud under a no-bid contract issued last week,.."

Equifax, who gave up 143 MILLION names, Social security #'s, and dates of birth.. those folks ?
Given by the same organization that blatantly and knowingly discriminates against Conservatives and Tea Partiers ?
Awarded under a :" NO -BID CONTRACT " ?
Sometimes the jokes just write themselves ..ROTFLMFAO !

if congress gave a shit about this, instead of “lashing out”, they’d simply pass a bill forbidding FedGov from contracting with equifax and prohibit any funding of same.

This is from holdovers. Remember the libs going nuts over haliburton getting no bid contracts after Cheney left.

Can’t Trump stop this?

Everyone I know who checked was told their info MAY have been compromised but they wanted my $$ # to tell me for sure. If they don’t have my SS# then I’m not too worried about it. Crooks! All of them! And I’ll bet not one swamp creature was hacked.
