That’s called a “witness”. But if you have formed the idea, to any degree, that they are somehow involved, then they are a “suspect” and are fully vested with rights. Rights that had better be read to them before that interview.
Theres no such thing as a person of interest, legally speaking.

I’m sure if she’s an Abu Sayyaf operative who inspired Stephan to attack, the FBI will let her disappear.. They gotta keep their ‘angry white guy’ narrative ALIVE!

It’s not politically correct as much as it’s a legal difference or one term having a legal connotation and one does not.
But in reality most POI become suspects, but not always. It just means his gf is someone the need to speak with and get information.

The term was invented by our illustrious FBI when the Atlanta Olympics were bombef and the hero Richard Jewell completely saved the day.
The FBI decided he was the bomber bit wanted to play PC games and invented person of interest as a term. It has the exact same legal consequences and definition as “suspect”.

Or who was he FACETIMING or SKYPING it?
Of course I have no idea if this happened but maybe.
Another maybe is that he left the video to allow the police and people to see what he did his record.
Twisted mister.

A suspect and a POI are exactly the same. You cannot point to a single difference.

To be interviewed, not yet interrogated.

Maybe, but the phrase accomplishes one thing: it tells the

public that the cops/district attorney really want to talk to

that person.

The Lame Stream Media is trying to deflect our focus on the shooter’s wife, Marilou Danley, former high-limit hostess at the Club Paradise of the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa. It takes some digging to establish the fact that she divorced ultra-Lefty Geary Danley and married Stephen Braddock. Reports that do say it is alleged and keep us in the dark. But the fact is, she is a major influence on Braddock’s mindset. She is the key.

No that was hide and seel Marilou’s ex hubby and lefty political junkie Geary Danley. They were married over two decades.
Stephen Paddock the killer/shooter never had a social media presence.

She was a high-roller hostess in a Reno casino, married to a radical leftwing nutcase for 25 years, gets divorced, hooks up with rich psycho, they live together for a couple years, he “meticulously planned” his attack, she must have witnessed some of the planning in Mesquite, her mLife card was used by the rich psycho and is at crime scent at Mandalay Bay, and low and behold she’s been in Hong Kong, Japan, and the Philippines for the last critical weeks cashing $100,000 wire transfers from the rich psycho.

Marilou should be a person of interest.
.
.

Yes indeed she should be and it looks more and more like something politically motivated. Unless she can get back here and explain herself.
To me you don’t stay married to someone that hardcore into leftist politics like her ex and not have similar views.

There is no legal difference. It is only PC, and sounds ritzy and serious. If you might know something, or may have seen something, and so they wish to speak to you, you’re a witness.

The moment the investigator begins to think, “maybe this person is involved somehow”, you become a suspect. That’s called reasonable suspicion.

When the reasonable suspicion that made you into a suspect develops into “probable cause” you’re charged and become the accused

They really want to talk to the suspect? Ok, but when they find them, they better read them their rights, let them have an attorney if they want, etc.

If they want to ever make a case that is.

She’d be nuts to come back-———I wouldn’t.

Everything is still far too chaotic if she’s innocent, and if she’s guilty why come back?.
