The current gubmint story has no explanation for that generally acknowledged fact. Of course there could be many other stories in a similar vein.

This is about the most plausible explanation I’ve seen so far. Perhaps the rich gambler MO was a cover for arms dealer. That was definitely his background.
If a terrorist picked the date and location for an arms deal with the plans to turn it into a terror attack, this could make sense.
But the question would then be where are the terrorists and the additional weapons?
There should be surveillance video that could support or disprove this theory.
But too many things don’t add up for what has been reported so far to be a straight story.

the thing that has puzzled me most from the start is, why take 23 or however many guns (plus ammo) up into that room? if this was planned (and it looks like it was) taking up this quantity would only increase the risk of being detected before the attack?
maybe he was part of an FBI sting or op (entered into knowingly or otherwise) and the psycho decided to out himself in this way to get back at them?
Is it at all possible that (a) to Paddock it was an arms deal he was going to make, (b) but his buyers turned out to be terrorists that held him hostage while they conducted their rampage, (c) killing him as soon as they quit firing and made their way out of the room before the police arrived.
In which their would be video footage on the hotels security system that showed the departure of the terrorists from Paddocks room.
