One Million Catholics To Join Mass Rosary On Polands Border (commemorating Battle of Lepanto, Oct.7, 1571)
A historical re-enactment of the Christian victory over the Ottomans at the Battle of Lepanto in 1571 in St George's Square outside the Presidential Palace in Valletta, December 8, 2009.
At least 1 million Catholics are expected to form a line and pray the rosary along Polands borders on the anniversary of the Christian Fleet saving Europe from the Muslim Ottomans.
Polands bishops encourage Catholics to participate in the Oct. 7 mass rosary to pray for Polands salvation, according to Aleteia. The rosary will commemorate the end of the Fatima centenary on the Feast of Our Lady of Victory and the anniversary of the 1571 Battle of Lepanto, when the fleet of the Holy League defeated the Ottoman Empire and saved Europe from Islamization, according to the Catholic Herald.
The mass rosary mirrors the history of the Battle of Lepanto, during which Pope Pius V ordered Romes churches to remain open day and night for prayer and intercession on behalf of the Holy Leagues military forces, that they might stem the Ottoman advance into Europe, according to Word On Fire. Pius V specifically encouraged attendees to pray the rosary to invoke the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The faithful prayed day and night and throughout the Battle of Lepanto, and when victory was won, Pius V declared Oct. 7 a feast day.
The Polish bishops conference officially endorsed the upcoming mass rosary, and urged all the faithful to join in this initiative. The bishops said that those who cannot travel to the border can pray in their homes, hospitals, or churches.
Poles didn’t get the memo on progressive social justice, that no culture is better or worse than any (except the US) other. Neither does Poland have judges that set immigration policy.
We let islam hide behind the 1st Amendment, as if mosques were just churches of another faith and not foreign outposts dedicated to conquest.
No more muzzies!
My maternal grandparents were Polish. Wish I could read and speak Polish. Does it say what time? I would say my rosary at the same time here in the states.
I also will pray at home, though I live not far from the border. Actually, huge crowds are expected I'm not a fan of while praying. The map, I provided the link to, shows numbers in circles of thousands of people already signed in to take part, those who come from the depth of the . It gives no information about the local to attend, which is estimated from 2 to 3 times more, let alone chapels on the airports all across the country.
Later
Do you know if they’re going to pray only 5 mysteries, or all 20?
Thank you Matt!
Nope, I know no details. Yet, judging by time (from 2pm to 3:30 pm), it may be 5.
20 mysteries in 90 minutes? It’s hard to imagine to me.
Theyre still blocking the moor from entering Poland. God bless the Poles
God bless the Poles. They saved Europe in 1571 and are showing the rest of Europe how to do it again.
The time will be 7:00 a.m. Oct. 7 in Chicago [CDT]. I too will join in.
Here’s a calculator:

Thanks for the heads up...
...then we’ll be saying one too.
This is extraordinary! Thank you for the post and the map.
Be careful!
There were only 22,000 or so in Vegas.
Alright 7:00am on the 7th, I’m in!
By the way, I won’t forget them at the prayer on Saturday, GOD! I PROMISE!
I’m a Country music lover too. A breeze of the wild wind from Nashville at morning coffee from my Internet radio always makes my day.
Funny how these things work out. At 8m eastern time on the 7th, (2pm in Poland) we will be starting our rosary before the First Saturday Mass. We should have a good crowd. God bless Poland!
Now all is clear. The whole rosary will be said, two parts for Poland and two parts for the whole world.
God bless.
