The National Rifle Association, in its first statement on the Las Vegas shooting and in a rare break from its traditional opposition to gun-related regulations, called Thursday for a federal review of so-called bump stocks...On Thursday, the NRA called on the ATF to review that assessment...the National Rifle Association is calling on the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) to immediately review whether these devices comply with federal law.”...Even the Senate’s No. 2 Republican, John Cornyn of Texas, opened the door to new restrictions.

I was going to send the NRA a hundred bucks tonight, but I’m going to send it to GOA instead.

Do we care? Banning objects because evil people misuse them is stupid.

Seriously, keep your eye on that ball that’s trying to go by: the Paddock Case. It’s looking more suspicious and more like international involvement by the day and will have more effect on legislation than the talk about the bumpy butt stocks. Demand the right answers unconditionally.

Not only that, but even if he did, do we have proof that banning bump stocks would have had any impact on the shooter's ability to do what he did?

Nope, not a shred of evidence. This is politicians (democrats, republicans) taking advantage of a tragedy to whittle away at our gun rights, plain and simple.

And the NRA is selling its members down the river. This is why I'm glad I've NEVER joined the NRA. Every single NRA member ought to demand their dues back.

sounds like another gun control compromise has been reached. The Democrats will get exactly what they want and, in return, we will get exactly what the Democrats want.

Yes, we do have proof. So what? I'm still not for banning them.

When I buy ammo on-line and the seller wants to know if I want to `round-up’ for the NRA.
No.

Btw, Midway USA has a pretty good sale, and no shipping, on 5.56 now. It’s always a good day to BLOAT. I got some green tips.

A new statement on them would be a good idea.

The ATF is a bit more friendly now than a few years ago.

One way or the other the usual suspects are going to get it wrong anyway so having the ATF review again would be good data.

Just sayin’.

Have a look at this. Dudley Brown of the Rocky Mountain Gun Owners is the President, and it is national. They don't put up with any nonsense compromises and have probably been increasing membership quickly over the past few years.
