Its been a while, but the federalist papers explain the need for amendments better than I.
I am 57 years old. This is the first time I’ve heard that reasoning. I guess you learn something new every day. Not.
I first read about that argument from the left a few years ago. Apparently, they allege that the Founding Fathers were that fearful of blacks uprising against slave owners that that is why they wanted the whites to be armed through the Second Amendment. Not only is that patently false and fraudulent on it’s own, but anyone who has a rudimentary knowledge of the history of gun control laws in the United States knows that among the first gun restrictions created and passed in America were done so in the South before and after the Civil War to keep guns away from blacks. I believe that the NRA worked with the Congress on Racial Equality to oppose Jim Crow laws that continued to restrict firearms to blacks.
They have had think tanks trying to dismantle the constitution and the 2nd amendment for over one hundred years! They come up with new bullshit like this all the time.
Unfortunately, it won’t be the last. Now that some leftist scum has made up this “fact”, expect it to be in the next generation of schoolbooks, poisoning the minds of innocent youth just to pursue their agenda of totalitarian rule of the people.
