Unless you’ve worked in Hollywood, you don’t really understand the culture of fear. There are thousands of eager, willing applicants for every job. Character is tested daily. Don’t have a huge amount of experience in other fields, so I can’t speak with authority on other competitive professional cultures, but I know showbiz pretty well.

There is a FReeper here who works in the Hollywood Industry.

Really enjoyed his insights into other hwood matters and would love to hear his take on this one.

He’s the one who took note of liberal bumper stickers on employee cars and fired them.

In a technical profession (engineering), there are usually only about 100 applicants for every job, of which maybe 10 have good qualifications. HR would forward only the 10 to the hiring entity.
