most of them are old enough to know better, some probably are not taught to stick up for themselves or their parents are so eager to help them further their careers they have instilled in them not to make waves with powerful people, or maybe they choose to put up with it like you said to further their career, then I have no sympathy for them.
Because if they have real talent or even if just they really believed in themselves, they wouldn’t put up with that kind of abuse. Others would see their talent and want them to work for them instead. Plenty of Family friendly film makers etc that (hopefully) are not so gross as Weinstein and some others.
