America Fights Back: Record Number of Patriotic Cord-Cutters Tumble TV Stocks

There is only one way — one! — to finally and forever destroy Hollywood and much of the mainstream media. You have to cut your cable or satellite cord. You have to cancel your pay TV package. The one-legged stool propping up ESPN, CNN, MSNBC, Disney, MTV, and the entire Tinseltown crime syndicate is you paying for cable TV.

If you want to know how this scam works, read all about it here.

If you want to know what do to after you cut the cord for America, read all about it here.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but there is no single act any American can perform that will do more damage to the institutional left than to cut your cable/satellite cord. So please do so today. If that sounds like hyperbole, look at the recent news, look at what cord-cutting is already doing to Hollywood:

The cable company wrings money out of me by claiming it won’t be any cheaper just to have internet alone w/o cable.

We get that line from the cable company too. They also hinted to us that "internet-only" customers get throttled back by implying that the internet would be faster with cable TV on top of it.

That has not been my experience at all since cutting the cable. The Internet is plenty fast enough and there is enough bandwidth in the house for several video streams at once.

For me, it's not about saving money, it's about not bringing that crap into the house and subsidizing networks such as CNN, MTV, ESPN, MSNBC, etc. I don't care if "internet-only" was double the price. I'd still cut the cable. I feel that strongly about it.

It's just the wife and I at home so this is how we do it. Our one TV set in the living room has a Roku box attached to it ($99 one time cost) from which we stream internet content to the TV. But we hardly use the TV. Mostly we stream over our laptops (MacBook Pros) and this provides stunning video quality. I stream Sirius/XM radio throughout the house on wireless speakers which has not only all the music you will ever need but FoxNews, sports and talk shows. So for breaking news, the occasional game and for say Hannity or Tucker at night, we are covered nicely. If we really wanted to, we could find a live FoxNews stream on YouTube.

We have Netflix and Amazon Prime which delivered hundreds of television shows, movies and documentaries with phenomenal video quality (over the Internet). We don't really care about the current season of a particular show or the fact that some shows and movies aren't available. There is more than enough content already that we would never be able to watch it all even if that's all we had to ever do.

So I don't miss cable TV at all. I used to miss watching NFL football (though I could always hear the game on Sirius/XM) and I would sometimes go to a local sports bar to see a game but now I don't even do that anymore given that the NFL has decided to give the finger to their fans by allowing their players to protest President Trump and America while on the field.

That all said, there are many Americans out there still scared to pull the cable TV plug. They have grown addicted to cable television. It's encouraging to see more and more of them taking the plunge and going cold turkey.

I have had no regrets.

Yup. In Minnesota where I am we have frontier for dsl and that’s it. They keep it slow enough and crappy enough that you need to order a sat based tv provider because the internet is so slow and unreliable that you can’t stream much of anything. Frontier of course offers this dish based service. I’d love to have a wisp or something with some speed.

They are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Customers want unbundled. The networks say if you want this channel it has to come with this, that and the other channel.

Someone will eventually cave in. But they have to lose more customers first

First of all, you must buy a Roku. Roku is not “channel” but rather a device that accesses the wifi stream and feeds it to the TV via the HDMI input. A smart TV does the same except it may not be able to access as many of the “channels” as Roku

A channel is a streaming service like NetFlix or Amazon or History channel or Smithsonian channel or You tube.

the Roku account can also be accessed through your computer. For me it is easier to find Roku channels on my computer and then add or dismiss. They then show up on the Roku on your tv screen. The amount of stuff is unreal. It can be overwhelming. My smart TV has some channels but paltry compared to what is available.

Alternatives to ROKU include Amazon Fire Stick and Apple TV. I don’t know how well they work compared to Roku.

Roku comes native out of the box with Netflix and Amazon and youtube so when you get it you can be up and running immediately and can search for more later.

I would drop cable today except I can not find a streaming source for H&G and the Food channel watched by my wife. On You tube I found several live streams for Fox News so that solved my cable cutting problem. I am in a period of intense study and expect to cut the cable cord soon

Your wife can live without those channels. I had the same dilemma in my house. Within a few weeks, she forgot all about those channels as we are awash in all the content that is available via streaming. There's actually far more streaming content on YouTube alone than all the hundreds of cable TV stations combined. Including endless amounts of cooking and food shows.

That’s a good point I got rid of cable after the first republican debate. I was more involved than ever doing the last campaign. Also the way I was involved was much different. Instead of just following the fake cable newz I was actively involved on the internet, campaigning. Also I was very upbeat because I didn’t have that daily propaganda. It got me off my ass and campaign for Donald Trump. The media now I think is starting to see how much their credibility was undermined shilling for HRC

I have a similar setup to yours.

However, one thing I’ve noticed, on Netflix and Amazon Prime developed content...

A drift Leftward. More shows that give a leftist twist to everything. Some are getting as bad as anything on ABC/NBC/CBS.

I wish I could find a list of the most leftwing political shows made by Netflix/Amazon Prime so I could block them somehow.

It’s called television programming only because the phrase mind control was taken

That’s unfortunate. The cable companies should offer channels a la cart.

Yup, there are so many mediocre and terrible shows on TV. I mostly watch old shows that I already owned on DVD.

did this maybe 10 years ago—what freedom and peace of mind. people who watch the ruling classes’ propaganda organs are influenced and controlled in many ways they don’t even realize.

Six years for me, and you are so right. You don't realize the subtle, negative influence a steady diet of commercial television has until you separate yourself from it for a significant period of time.

I find life much richer without it.

I also watch a couple shows on Food Network. I’ve noticed though that if I used an antenna, I would at least be able to see some cooking shows on PBS and Create.
I suspect I’d get over it.

Cut it about a year ago, and now get to see all those gun-totin’ westerns on over-the-air tv.
