Kurdish Peshmerga fighters say Iraq's central government has ordered them to surrender key military positions in the disputed city of Kirkuk within hours.

They were given a deadline of 02:00 on Sunday (23:00 GMT on Saturday) to quit military facilities and oil fields.

Brief clashes also erupted between Kurdish forces and (Iranian) Shia militia backing the Iraqi government.

Zero script. I’ll try it. Sometimes it doesn’t seem to post so I wait a few seconds and hit it again and get two posts. Sometimes I hit it once and it posts twice.

Russia, Iran, Syria, Turkey, Iraq. Tillerson. I’m going to watch a couple of his videos to read the body language and see what he and how he reports about the ME.

newsnow.co.uk has up to the minute headlines so just saw this...could be anywhere but

I doubt the US will "side" with the Kurds. The US may make it known to the Turks that we will not let them invade Kurdistan. If we set any rules it will be that Turkiye and Iraq leave the Kurds alone within some set of agreed upon(everybody else "agrees" to our decision) borders and We will not let Kurdistan impinge on the Turkish border. The Kurdistan dream includes a sizable chunk of Turkiye and a piece of Syria and a bite of Iran. We will discourage anything beyond what they manage to secure and hold in Iraq. Kirkuk is a problem. It is historically Kurdish but is also the center of Iraqi oil.

We do not need for the Syrian Kurds to be part of Kurdistan, or the Turkish Kurds either. Their organization is still Communist. We need for the Syrian Kurds to be part of Syria ruled by guess who? ASSAD. Anyone else in charge of Syria unless it is a Russian colony henceforth will be either Sunni or Shia hard core and bring immediate war of extermination against the several sizable minorities there. Assad is Alawite and thereby a heretic to both Sunni and Shia. He stays in power by running his government with minorities staffing and minorities army. He is a brutal dictator. He is allied with Iran. we cannot get any better. If we kill him his successor will be either a Shiite who will make Syria effectively a province of Iran or he will be a Sunni and chase out or kill the Christians, Jews, Druzes, Sufis, Shiites, Yazids, etc.
