Many figures within the Hollywood industry applauded The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Saturday when the 54-member Board of Governors voted to expel Harvey Weinstein from their ranks.

The Academy released a statement from the board after the decision was made, stating that the votes to oust Weinstein were "well in excess of the required two-thirds majority." Members of the board include Laura Dern, Whoopi Goldberg, Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg, and Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy.
"We do so not simply to separate ourselves from someone who does not merit the respect of his colleagues but also to send a message that the era of willful ignorance and shameful complicity in sexually predatory behavior and workplace harassment in our industry is over," the statement continued. "What's at issue here is a deeply troubling problem that has no place in our society. The Board continues to work to establish ethical standards of conduct that all Academy members will be expected to exemplify."

The Academy is continuing to work to establish ethical standards of conduct that all Academy members will be expected to exemplify ... except for when it comes to promotion of wanton violence, sex, drugs, crime, homosexuality, transsexualism, radical feminism, baby killing, satanism, the occult, the destruction of the family, and attacks on Christianity.
They are shooing Weinstein out the door hoping that sacrificing him will satisfy the pitchfork crowd who will then go home and not look under any more of their rocks.
Not anymore in the "new media" world. Especially when well-known names like George Clooney, Oliver Stone and Ben Affleck are now in their own scandals. And EVERYONE is dreading what Corey Feldman will reveal, now that he's suddenly believable.

Spot on. Weinstein is being thrown under the bus because they are hoping no one will go after the homosexual pedophiles.
Being that we really don't have a confirmed source of where this initiated (I doubt it was his brother who has $$$ vested in the matter) it's entirely possible that this is throwing a bone to the DOJ and adminstration.
The DOJ has been running a massive operation to crush pedophile and sex slave rings. Hundreds have been arrested and captured.

The dozens and dozens of recounts from women of their alleged predatory exchanges with movie mogul Harvey Weinstein follow an eerily similar narrative: White robes. Empty hotel rooms. The offer of a massage. The promise of work. The prospect of a flourishing career.
Sometimes, they say, he would brag about his pursuit of sex with models, others, he would sit in the bath or stand in the shower. He’d always be alone, but it wouldn’t ever start that way...
...But to – allegedly – sexually harass women over the course of 30 years with no consequence suggests Weinstein had a litany of secret keepers entangled in his web. People who, if the allegations are true, aided, abetted and were complicit in his ploy.
According to Ronan Farrow, who this week penned one of the more explosive reports to come from the saga in The New Yorker, Weinstein used what he calls ‘the honey pot’ technique.
“A female executive with the company described how Weinstein assistants and others served as a ‘honey pot’ — they would initially join a meeting, but then Weinstein would dismiss them, leaving him alone with the woman,” Farrow reported.
The piece said employees “describe a pattern of professional meetings that were little more than thin pretexts for sexual advances on young actresses and models”, while some workers reportedly felt they were “enlisted in subterfuge to make the victims feel safe”...

Probably not just Tinsel Town. Can you imagine what he most likely has on the DC critters — Clintons, Obamas, legislators? It took Hillary and Hussein five days to finally make statements about him. If their consciences were clean, statements would’ve been immediate. Figuring out exactly how to parse words often takes some time, even for Clintons who have taken it to an art form.
