Hungary is not Slavic, but it too was oppressed by the Hapsburgs

I was in Bratislava in 1991 and witnessed the annual re-enactment of the crowning of Maria Theresa as King of Hungary, which had been going on at that point for about 250 years.

Otto von Hapsburg's heart is buried in Hungary. Hungary under the Hapsburgs ruled Croatia, Transylvania, Bukovina, most of Slovakia, and in general made out OK.

True enough, until the Hapsburgs dragged Hungary into WW I.

It’s also worth noting that Austria gave Hungary a measure of self-governance only after the Hungarians forced the issue in the Compromise of 1867.
