One of my good friends was a B-17 pilot in WWII and was shot down over Germany. What was left of his crew met every year. It was sad to hear of their experiences in the prisoner of war camp, but even sadder to hear of the passing of each, one by one, until he died.

To deny that the soldier was aware of the dangers of his job and that he performed admirably nevertheless is too step all over his memory.
It is sad that the mother is participating in trampling all over her own son’s honor and memory, but that can possibly be excused due to her grief. But all the rest are just scum floating on sewage water.
